No More Baby Food...
So Connor has decided this week that he is no longer eating baby food. No matter what kind of baby food I give him, no matter how hungry he is, he refuses to eat it. So, I'm in a bind. Do any of you moms out there have any ideas for finger foods that are ok for an 11 1/2 month old to eat? And not just snacks, but actual meals? He does great with crackers and cheerios, but I need some ideas for meal time. Thanks!

Katelyn did not do well with baby food at all by the time she was like 7 months. My doctor told me I could feed her soft table foods, like steamed vegetables cut up really small, potatos, canned fruit. With Cody I was a lot more nervous about what to feed him, but with Katelyn I pretty much gave her anything we were eating. I just made sure it was cut up really small or mashed. Hope that somewhat helps.
Oh, believe me...we're pros when it comes to the food category. It is hard to remember back to what's not okay for under 12 months though! Even though they're a little expensive, we'd do a lot of those Gerber Graduates. Anders loved (and still does) the ravioli and we'd cut them in half. They're filled with vegetables. We also did a lot of Easy Mac because, well, it's easy! The best thing we ever did was started him right off on those cups of diced fruit. He loves the diced peaches, pears, and whatever they have. They make it without the added sugar in the syrup so it at least has some nutritional value. I could seriously go on and on...Let me know if you need any more ideas!
My boys love potatoes...hot dog, however yucky that sounds, is pretty easy to chew..I cut them into little pieces. Mac and Cheese is always good. My boys also love spaghetti...though it is messy! The fruit cups are great too, or bottled fruit. Bananas are easy to chew as well. I will also make a pb & honey sandwich, which Nathan loves. Just cut it in little pieces. Steamed veggies work good. I usually try peas and green beans. Steamed carrots are a favorite too. Just feed him veggies as long as you can...my kids have lost their taste buds for them. Nathans new favorite...apple dipped in ketchup! Applesauce is good too...they have the no sugar added kind that I like to get. Grilled cheese sandwich cut up might be good too. Nathan loves string cheese too. jello and pudding are also good. I have learned to not stress so much if they don't get a balanced meal every time!...that alone helps a lot!!
Hello! Wow, he is getting so old! As far as the food thing goes, I don't know if we have just had it easy or what, but Belle has always eaten what we eat. When she was Connors age, we just mashed it up more. Sticky rice, noodles, cut up ham, peas, yogurt, soft steamed veggies, anything to dip in ranch, thick soups, and Mac & Cheese are some of her favorites. Good Luck. You'll have to post an update on how he's doing with it.
