Calling All Moms!
I think I'm going to soon attempt the daunting task of potty training Connor. For all of you experienced mothers out there, any suggestions on techniques I should try or books I should read? I'd really appreciate it! Thanks.
That is a good question? How to potty train... when you find out let me know! By the way... those cupcakes are so cute.. I can hardly believe these boys are two! Yikes! They're getting to be so big!
I am no expert by any means...all I know is that my son Carter wasn't ready until he was like almost 3. I had tried to "motivate" him but it just made me exhausted and irritated him. When HE was the one who was ready, it was really pretty easy. All kids are different, but they say boys are harder to potty train. I wish you the best! :)
Oh Emily, I feel for you already! Potty training has been so not fun around here, to say it nicely. Nate is over three and still not there yet. I wish you the best of luck...my only advice...a sticker chart works pretty well so it takes them a little longer to get a big reward. Just pray Connor doesn't try to change his own poopy messes!! I wish you luck!
I have to agree that 2 may be a little early. Every child is different though. Talk to Shannon, she is amazing. I've always done a modified version of potty training in a day. There is a book out there and I can tell you more if you are interested. I'm not even thinking of starting Nathan till later this summer. (He'll turn 3 in Feb.) and even that seems early to me. It can be done though. Good luck!
I'm sure there is a potty training hire-out service out there somewhere...I just haven't found it yet! My advice...wait until he is ready..I mean until it's his idea. Less stress on you and less accidents. We started with Logan when he was almost 3..it was quite nearly a nightmare...all depends on their personality. If he's picking out his own diapers, hiding in a corner to go #2, and tells you every time he goes..then he's probably ready. We did the sticker chart, and prize bucket(every time he went #2 he got to choose a prize). Also..some moms of boys tell me to just let him run around the house naked for a couple days...something about them not wanting to pee without anythng on. I haven't started with Nathan yet..he'll be 3 in July. He is totally ready, but won't wear underwear. So..everyday I encourage him to let me know when he's ready...so much less stressful on my part! GOOD LUCK!!
Hi! Love your blog design! So cute! I tried pushing Troy into potty training at 2 and he was not ready. Tried at 3 and he was a little better....one day he just told me he didn't want to wear a diaper anymore and that was that. Everyone is so different. Colt turned 2 in January and I'm not even going to deal with it until later this summer even though he asks to go potty and is successful all the time. I am just kinda lazy :) Good luck!
